| Have waited for this a long time
Yesterday was a long day at the office, but when its finalday you really want to work a couple of hours extra:-)
Had a hard time to find any play that knocked down all ten pins, but fighted me thru qualification and the firsts rounds of the final.
The first 2 rounds in the matchplay was a battle from the first frame to the last. Won over Erik Andersin with 2-0 (204-198, 200-196), and another 2-0 victory in the second round over Corey Clayton, Canada (209-208, 197-194).
Knew i had to make some changes if i want to survive the coming rounds, so in the next round against Petteri Salonen, Finland i change to a ball (The Break) that i never used earlier this week, and it really paid off. Shot 245 and 247 to win easy, and get my self a spot in the stepladder as the fourth and last player.
Was my teammate Osku Palermaa i had to face, and it was pretty even all the way, but i won with 232 against 217.
In the semi i was up against PBA-player Ronnie Russell, USA, and he struggled the whole game so there was a easy win for me (194-160).
The titlematch against another PBA-player, Mike Fagan, USA started outreally good for me with front 4, and at the same time Mike had a opened in the second frame. Struggled in my 5th and 6th frame who resulted in two open frames, but felt anyhow really comfortable as i had everything in my own hands. 3 strikes in frame 7 to 9 force me to only have a mark in the last frame. Left the 2-4-7 but the spareshot was perfect, and my biggest win since the World Cup 1986 was a fact!
All my practice on the lanes and the gym has finally paid off, but i think this monday will be free from practice:-)
