| (2008-11-10)Decided to play simple and stay out of trouble as the scoringpace was so low in this tournament. I didnt have that many strikes, but neither that many open frames and my first seven games was between 186 and 216. In the eight and last game of the block i had some margin for errors, which i ofcourse took advantage of. With 248 in that game i was 6th only 14 points from second place in the really tight field (except Osku then, which was completly outstanding)
In the next block which was only over 4 games i decided to change the surface on the ball (The Break) i used whole week, to be able to put more siderotation and with that get more margin for errors. That was a really good decision and with 898 i made the tv-finals with almost 100 points down to the cut.
I faced Tobias Melin, Force(another lefty) in my semifinal, but it was no fun game for me. O played ok, but did not have the luck you may need sometimes in this knockout matches. Tobias played really really good and was a worthy winner.
A third place in this tournament is ok, but i still miss my first victory on the supersix-tour. Maybe its my turn in Malmö next month?!?
(2008-11-08)My fridayafternoon-squad did not start that good, and as i was told by other players frpm previous squads, there was not so much margin for errors on this PBA-Chameleon pattern. I also decide to play an inside line from beginning and had a 168 game as a starter, which was about as much i could get with my inside line.
Moved much more to the outside after that and played pretty ok but the spareshooting was not ok, so my 1240 in this squad could easily been about 30-40 pin smore and a secured spot in the final on sunday.
At the moment i am in 20th position, so there is still a small chance that it could be enough.

Played this squad on the same 3 pairs i played on yesterday, so that was a little advantage for me. Started on the same place in the lane as i ended the fridayafternoon squad, so there was not that many difficult spares to convert. Played really steady all 6 games and had 1274, even do i opened three of the last four frames, but its better to have those opens today then in sunday finals.
THe final starts at 8.30 am with 8 games, and after that top 16 goes thru and play another 4 games. |
